This customer has had repeated problems with their existing filtration system. Upgrade of existing equipment along with additional filtration to deal with the high levels of iron & manganese in the borehole water.
Water filtration system upgrade, Halifax – Full Description
The filtration system wasn’t adequate and the borehole wasn’t maintained. After a detailed water analysis was taken from the new borehole, we were able to design a new filtration system that comprised of:-
We also re-used the customer’s existing UV pre-filter and UV system.
This customer now has safe drinking water that meets with the Drinking Water Regulations.
Water Testing
The starting point for any water treatment design is a representative water analysis that is complete and accurate. Using a UKAS Accredited Laboratory. Two of our engineers, here at Prosep Filter Services, have undergone formal training and are now certified to carry out water sampling to UKAS accredited standards.

pH Correction
Water in which the pH is below 7 is acidic. Acidic water accelerates corrosion in pipe work, It can also cause staining on fittings in baths, sinks and other appliances. Acidic water can leave a distinctive ‘metallic’ taste when drunk.
